While it is not always fun and games for gaming lovers, sometimes they want to rest their heads and want to watch something instead of playing all time. There are plenty of movies that are based on famous video games. Gaming lovers also love all movies that are based on their favorite video games.

Similar to a wide range of genres in video games, video game-related movies have a variety of genres as well. The game for just for the sake of destroying everything, so instead of being a hero from a game, you could be a monster who had to destroy as much as he can by stomping on everything.

Starring Dwayne Johnson the movie revolves around a Primatologist Davis Okoye who teams up with a geneticist, Dr. Kate Caldwell and the two try to save George who is an albino gorilla, and also prevent two giant animals from wreaking havoc in Chicago. The story is bumpy, entertaining and fun, and has pretty violent scenes. The movie might actually seem boring at first but with the rising action, it gets more and more fun to watch. It is definitely not to miss, and is one of those fun and action-filled Dwayne Johnson films.


If you are a diehard Warcraft fan and want to learn more in-depth about the history of it, this is the movie to watch. Apart from its amazing visuals, Warcraft is a movie that revolves around Orcs who are trying to invade the humans’ planet through a magic portal.

A few human survivors team up with a group of rebellious Orcs to stop the other Orcs from invading their planet. The movie teaches us a lot of things such as something always goes wrong when magic is involved. The movie discusses the foundations of the world of Warcraft and if you are a true fan, only the introductory prologue of the movie is two hours long and will tell you a lot about the origins of the Warcraft world.

Ace Attorney

Ace Attorney is a Japanese legal comedy-drama film that revolves around the murder of a junior lawyer Phoenix Wright. The movie revolves around a trial system that is designed to battle increasing crime rates in time. The new system does not encourage long court cases that run for days, so they bring a new rule where the prosecutor and the prosecution have only three days to fight the case and present their cases before the verdict is passed.

Since they have no time for an in-depth investigation, many strange things happen to work in favor of the successful resolution to happen. There are many last-minute witnesses such as parrots, ghosts, and many more weird things.

The murder mystery and courtroom drama is one of its kind in terms of story as well as visuals. The intention of the movie is to convey how ridiculous and stupid court cases can be. If you are an Ace Attorney fan, and love the game, you should not miss this one movie.

Sonic the Hedgehog

If you are a fan of the Sonic videogame series, we are sure you have already watched this movie. Well, if you have not, you should definitely watch it, because after a decade of poor releases, Sonic the Hedgehog did come out as one of the best video game movies.

In Sonic the Hedgehog we see Sonic working with the local sheriff to stop Dr. Robotnik from making the world his own. The movie has a good storyline, is fun, entertaining, and is fast so it doesn’t bore the viewer. If you want to watch something gaming-related that is super fun and entertaining with great visuals, Sonic the Hedgehog is the movie for you.

When we say Mortal Kombat, it is pretty clear that we are talking about one of the best videogame-based movies. Well while there are three sequels to the Mortal Kombat movies, the movies revolve around martial arts warriors who fight the enemies to save the Earth. Well, when it comes to the sequels, in the first movie, Mortal Kombat 1995, the three martial arts warriors go to a faraway island where they engage in a battle to save the Earth where their aim is to save the planet and make sure that truth wins in the fight against evil.

In Mortal Kombat: Annihilation 1997 the warriors get seven days to save the planet from the Outerworld’s emperor who is trying to unite the two worlds and rule on them. In Mortal Kombat 2021 an MMA champion Cole Young is the chosen one to save Earth. He has to learn to unlock his power and fight the warriors of the Outerworld. This is a good series especially for Mortal Kombat fans.

Werewolves Within

Werewolves within is one of our favorite videogame adaptations because of the great storyline, and entertaining actions. The movie is a comedic horror film filled with fun and games where a bunch of people are stuck in a cabin during a snowstorm assuming who amongst them could actually be a werewolf. The movie is full of suspense as no one knows who might be a werewolf and who just wants to get out alive. The movie is similar to the latest Virtual Reality game where you wear your equipment and sit there in the cabin to figure out who is the werewolf. The movie is fun, horror, entertaining, and keeps you hooked until the end.
